1. It is mandatory for masqueraders to wear their masquerader’s wristband for entry into the parade. Failure to do so can result in denied entry or a fine of not less than $2,500.
  2. Everyone participating in the Toronto Caribbean Carnival’s events implicitly and explicitly agrees to the Code of Conduct and Workplace Harassment, Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Prevention Policy (harassment policy).
  3. Every participant in the Toronto Caribbean Carnival must be respectful of every other participant in the festival.
  4. No person or corporation participating in any of the Toronto Caribbean Carnival’s events shall make any unfounded or disparaging remarks as against any FMC staff or management personnel and any other person or corporation participating in the Toronto Caribbean Carnival series of events.
  5. No person or corporation participating in any of the Toronto Caribbean Carnival’s events shall make any false allegations against any person or corporation participating in the Toronto Caribbean Carnival’s events.
  6. The Toronto Caribbean Carnival celebrates diversity. No individual associated with a mas band shall make derogatory remarks against a person’s race, ethnic origin, age, nationality, disability, appearance, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other ground covered by the Human Rights Code.
  7. Any person on the parade that is deemed aggressive, incapacitated, threatening, a threat to their own heath, or unable to fulfill the role they are intended to do due to intoxication shall not be permitted to continue to participate in the event or following events in that year and the following year at the sole discretion of the FMC.
  8. No person is allowed to bring weapons of any kind to the Toronto Caribbean Carnival’s events.
  9. Everyone is expected to conduct themselves in a manner in keeping with the spirit of the festival. This means that no one participating in the festival shall engage in swearing and/or fighting at any of the festival’s events.
  10. No objects of any kind shall be thrown from vehicles during any of the Parades (at the discretion of the FMC).
  11. Any material or substance such as mud, oil, paint, or other chemicals which create or potentially create a health or safety hazard in the assembly area, staging area or the parade route is strictly prohibited.
  12. No entity shall distribute any promotional materials along either of the
    parade routes unless authorized by the FMC in writing.
  13. Failure to abide by the above rules can result in the following:
    Immediate removal from the parade/event
    The entire band being disqualified from the competition in the current year if a competitive band.
    The entire band being refused participation in the events the current year or the following year if a non-competitive band.
    Report being made to the police.
    Commencement of legal proceedings
    Fines to be determined by FMC management.
